Biomedica is the quarterly scientific journal of the Colombian Nacional Health Institute (Instituto Nacional de Salud).  It is protected by resolution number 003768, 1981, from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Ministerio de Gobierno), and has a reduced postal charge according to resolution number 1128 dated May 5, 1982.

The mission of Biomédica is to publish original results of  research work which significantly contribute to increase knowledge in health and biomedicine.

Its abbreviated title is Biomedica, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
