The Bulletin of Geology was founded in 1958 by geologists Manuel Julivert and Jaime De Porta . That same year saw the first issue of the magazine, whose mission has been the dissemination of knowledge in the geosciences.

The Bulletin of Geology, the scientific journal of the School of Geology at Industrial University of Santander, is an international quarterly publication intended for original and high quality studies in the Geosciences. It aims to disseminate scientific work of national and foreign researchers serving as a mean of expression and exchange of intellectual productivity, to contribute to material and social development of Colombia.

The Bulletin of Geology is formed by the Editorial Board, a International Scientific Committee and a Panel of Arbitrators, among which there are with specialists in the country and abroad.
