The scientific journal BULLETIN OF MARINE AND COASTAL RESEARCH, honored by Colciencias as the best publication of its kind in Colombia in 1997 and classified by Publindex as A2 category indexed journal in 2005, publishes unedited works on any marine or coastal aquatic environments research subject, undertaken in the tropical and subtropical areas of America. One issue is published every year, since 1967 by INSTITUTO DE INVESTIGACIONES MARINAS Y COSTERAS “JOSE BENITO VIVES DE ANDRÉIS”-INVEMAR (MARINE AND COASTAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE). It is distributed around 40 countries of the five continents preferably by exchange system

Its abbreviated title is bol. invemar, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips
