Basic Information

The RevistaColombiana de Gastroenterología (Colombian Journal of Gastroenterology) is an official publication of the Asociación Colombiana de Gastroenterologia (Colombian Association of Gastroenterology), by quarterly issue which started its uninterrupted circulation in 1.986 and also counts on the active participation of the Asociacion Colombiana de Endoscopia Digestiva (Colombian Association of Digestive Endoscopy), the Asociación Colombiana de Hepatología (Colombian Association of Hepatology) and the Asociación Colombiana de Coloproctología (Colombian Association of Coloproctology). The primary aim of the Journal is the diffusion of the scientific, research, academic and administrative activities of the members of the Association and of the medical or health care professionals, either nationals or foreigners, who are working in the fields of Gastroenterology, Digestive Endoscopy, Hepatology, Coloproctology or other branches of medicine.

The Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología started its uninterrupted circulation in 1986 and was approved by Resolution of the Ministry of Government No 001940 with ISSN 0120-9957. It has an print run of 1000 issues and its primary field of diffusion is constituted by all the active members of the four scientific associations, the libraries of the national information system, the scientific societies members of the AIGE and the subscriptions of persons who do not belong to these groups.

Its abbreviated title is Rev. colomb. gastroenterol., which must be used in bibliographies, foot notes, references and bibliographic strips.

The Asociación Colombiana de Gastroenterología is the institution that finances the Journal.



The works which will be published in the RCG must be unpublished an provided exclusively to the Journal, where they are submitted to peers evaluation by members of the Advisory Scientific Committee, who present them to the Editorial Board for their acceptation and publication, within a period of 30 to 60 days. Their total or partial reproduction must have the approbation of the Editor and should give credit to the original publication. The works must be sent to:

All the texts included in the Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología are protected by copyright. According to the law, it is forbidden their reproduction by any means, mechanical or electronic, without a written permission of the Editor. The responsibility for the concepts which are published is entirely on the author and the RCG will watch over the respect to ethical principles.



The Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología depends economically on the Asociación Colombiana de Gastroenterología (Colombian Association of Gastroenterology) and obtains its resources primarily from the donations performed by the pharmaceutical industry, looking for the maintenance of a level of incomes sufficient to assume its expenses.
