Salud UIS Magazine published the first issue in June 1969 under the name of UIS-MEDICINE Magazine, which exchange a year later to Salud UIS Magazine, given its nature as official scientific organ of the Health Faculty of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.

The magazine Salud UIS is the official diffusion organ of the Health Faculty of the Universidad Industrial de Santander. Its mission is to report quarterly to the local, national and international intellectual and literary production of research results in the area of health and related sciences. The audience for this magazine is formed by health professionals: physiotherapists, bacteriologists, nurses, doctors, nutritionists, dentists, veterinarians, health administrators, psychologists, researchers in basic and clinical areas, and others.

Rev. Univ. Ind. Santander. Salud its purpose is to publish original articles of high scientific quality in the health sciences.

Articles published in the Magazine Salud UIS is indexed in PUBLINDEX, Index of Colombian Scientific and Technical Serial Publications, COLCIENCIAS. Clasification type B and they appear in the following databases:

• LILACS, Latin-American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature
• IMBIOMED, Mexican index of Latin-American biomedic magazines.
