ABSTRACT According to Peruzzi (2006), Category Theory (CT) aims to unify various branches of mathematics through a common language. Experts such as Cheng (2023) also consider CT to be a fundamental tool for understanding and generalizing the relationships between mathematical objects. Moreover, based largely on the assertions made by Husserl in the Prolegomena to Pure Logic and Formal and Transcendental Logic regarding the proposal of a transcendental phenomenology-specifically the ideas of a theory of manifolds, intentionality, and pure logic-scholars such as A. Peruzzi, Patras, Benoist, and Król have sought to relate phenomenology to category theory, aiming at a comprehensive review of their mathematical-philosophical implications. Consequently, the objective of this article is to evaluate the feasibility of this relationship by presenting the proposals of these researchers, with a special emphasis on their approach to what these ideas represent for them, interspersed, of course, with some critical reflections based on Husserl's expositions on the matter.
ABSTRACT Intuitionism maintains that numerical series correspond to our intuitions of continuous temporal evolution, with the operations and properties of these sets are explained as constructions. Subsequently, the constructivism of the Erlangen School would also consider that logical inferences conceived procedurally involve propositions that account for language as a historical-cultural elaboration. In such a case, the propositional scope would possess a subjective character that goes beyond the conception of these constructions as mere procedural descriptions, thereby demanding a more consistent substrate as a foundation. This need can be met by appealing to Scott Soames's cognitive theory of propositions as a plausible candidate since he conceives of propositions as concrete predicative acts. In turn, Soames's theory does not admit an exhaustive description of the cognitive acts of predication that explain the representational content of propositions. Accordingly, this work focuses on developing a complementary relationship between both theories, amenable to being algorithmically coded, whereby the computational dimension operates as an articulatory hinge between both conceptions that allows us, ultimately, to formulate a constructivist definition of propositions from a cognitive point of view. Phenomenal Bonding and Co-Consciousness as Solution to the Combination Problem for Panpsychism.
ABSTRACT The main challenge for panpsychism is the combination problem. Among the numerous attempts at a solution, the phenomenal bonding project stands out. Being relatively new, there are still details to be clarified, such as the nature of this relation. It has been suggested that the phenomenal bonding relation could be identified with the co-consciousness relation. Accordingly, the purpose of this research is to conduct a critical evaluation of this identification in order to discard it. On the other hand, in a more speculative tone, I will address some implications of this critical evaluation. The Aesthetic Dimension of Philosophical Work. The Proper Name and the Death of Author http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S1692-88572026000200096&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt RESUMEN ¿Qué hay de personal en la obra escrita?
ABSTRACT What is personal in the written work? How much property do we have over it? Is the one who writes, the one who represents it? These are some of the questions that this paper seeks to answer, holding that every philosophical work possesses an insurmountable aesthetic dimension, this statute being impersonal that constitutes its vital impulse or its creative motor and serves as its sine qua non condition. Subsequently, this intimate event will be explored through the category of proper name within the contemporary French philosophy, reflecting on the aesthetic dimension. In this regard, the reader find an explanation of the modes or mechanisms in which the proper name is produced and how it occurs in the event of the author's death, confirmed through its configuration as an aesthetic dimension in the work.
ABSTRACT This work reflects on the construction of the dialectical epistemological discourse in the essays "Sorties" (1975), "Le Rire de la Méduse" (1975), and La Venue à l'écriture (1977) by Hélène Cixous, with the aim of understanding the relationship the author proposes between the body and writing. To this end, it analyzes how Cixous challenges the phallocentric construction of the feminine in philosophy and literature-a critique that emerges through the recovery of female figures-mythological, literary, and historical-that allow her to establish a genealogy capable of opposing the patriarchal and metaphysical structures of knowledge. Finally, this research critically approaches her work to reclaim her reflections on the body, phallocentrism, metaphysics, and desire, thereby yielding an understanding of writing as a language of uncertainty.
ABSTRACT This work aims to address the classical problem of infinite modes in Spinoza by proposing an innovative reading hypothesis. Distancing myself from previous readings of these enigmatic modifications-characterized by disagreement and obscurity-I seek to offer an interpretation centered on Spinoza's gnoseological proposal. By drawing on his theory of knowledge, I will argue that Spinoza refers to infinite modes as the aspect of nature that we grasp when we conceive things the common notions of rational knowledge. Ultimately, understanding them in this way allows for a reading that is coherent with the rest of the system, thereby enabling us to offer an explanation for the mysterious infinite mode that Spinoza leaves unnamed.
ABSTRACT This paper is focuses on the object of research and the concept of application in Gadamerian philosophy. To this end, Gadamer's work is examined with respect two areas of application: law and medicine. First, the philosophical structure of application is presented. Subsequently, the text explores its development in the context of Wahrheit und Methode, particularly as it relates to the field of law. This framework provides the basis for the final section, in which the role of application in medicine is analyzed and its two characterizations are demarcated-namely, as the art of healing and as the science of health. Ultimately, it is concluded that application in medicine confronts the insurmountable moment of the patient's normative claim and its practical consequences.
ABSTRACT This article proposes a new interpretation of La langosta azul (1954), thereby challenging its classification as a Surrealist work. Through a semiotic analysis of the short film and its historical context, the text argues that the film is more appropriately situated within a Neorealist aesthetic, while also incorporating elements of Caribbean culture-such as humor, farce, rituality, and carnival-as well as a science fiction dimension linked to the nuclear imaginary of the Cold War. The study examines the film's narrative structure, spatial construction, and use of non-professional actors and natural locations to establish its affinity with Italian Neorealism, particularly Ladri di biciclette (De Sica, 1948). It also analyzes the parallels between the two narratives in terms of the loss of an object, the unsuccessful search, and the final gesture of solidarity. Moreover, the article situates the film within the geopolitical context of the 1950s, interpreting the mutated lobster as a science fiction artifact associated with nuclear radiation and international espionage. Ultimately, it concludes that the film constitutes a form of "Caribbean Neorealism" that invites a reconsideration of its place in Colombian cultural history.
ABSTRACT This article examines Álvaro Cepeda Samudio's short story "Todos estábamos a la espera" through a dual lens: the fantastic and the existential. In doing so, it argues that waiting transcends its thematic role to function as an ontological structure and a representational device that shapes the plot and defines the condition of the characters. The analysis highlights the circularity of the text, the plural voice as a dissolution of identity, the testimony of the massacre as suspended memory, and the figure of Madeleine as an emblem of the eternal return. Ultimately, the study concludes that the story dramatizes human existence as an endless waiting that crosses the boundary between the living and the dead, thereby revealing the fragility of life and the impossibility of fulfillment.
ABSTRACT "Las muñecas que hace Juana no tienen ojos," included in Los cuentos de Juana (1972) by Álvaro Cepeda Samudio, is a grotesque and highly innovative text that recovers-or at least seems to recover-the background, as well as certain characters and themes, from his only novel, La casa grande (1962). However, the articulation of this intertextual-or, more precisely, transnational-link is paradoxical: those elements both are and are not the same as those in the novel. By analyzing the continuities and discontinuities between the two works, this article seeks to highlight, from a perspective that has so far remained unexplored, the radical nature of "Las muñecas," which stands as an emblem of the experimentalism that runs through Los cuentos de Juana as a whole. Neither Communist nor Capitalist, a Journalist.
ABSTRACT This research article traces the international affairs journalism written and published by Álvaro Cepeda Samudio in 1948. That year, Colombia entered the period known as La Violencia (The Violence) following the assassination of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán on April 9. However, the 111 columns the journalist wrote for El Nacional in Barranquilla focused primarily on four geopolitical themes: the UN and Palestine, Communism and Capitalism, Franco's War, and the Ninth InternationalCIA. Revisiting these themes through discourse analysis allows us to engage with and recognize a self-taught, humane, and socially engaged journalism-one that held power accountable, used simple language, and skillfully questioned, exposed, and analyzed global political movements. At the same time, these columns serve as a valuable lesson in journalism, both historically and presently, for students, young journalists, and veterans of what was once a craft and is now a profession.
