^les^aSe trata de analizar la transición política española teniendo como referente lo sucedido en Portugal en 1974, donde se produjo una revolución seguida de un proceso constituyente clásico. En España, en 1975, una serie de factores internos y externos determinó que se impusiera un modelo de continuidad social y de cambio en lo político, de ruptura con el pasado, que supone también la introducción de una determinada idea de modernidad que está en la base de la realidad social y, en alguna medida, de la actual situación política española.^len^aOur purpose is to analyze the Spanish political transition, taking the events of Portugal in 1974 as a point of reference. A revolution took place there, followed by a classic constituent process. In Spain, in 1975, a series of internal and external factors determined the imposition of a social continuity and political change model, a model that broke its ties with the past. This also meant the introduction of a certain idea of modernity that lays at the foundation of social reality, and in some measure, of the current political situation in Spain.
