This study analyzes the relationship between misleading advertising and medical liability for cosmetic plastic surgery. It is the way in which some aesthetic clinics provide their services and manage mislead the consumer through the practice known as misleading advertising. This way, it is examined: first, the conceptual framework of misleading advertising, exaggerated advertising and medical liability; second, medical liability in plastic surgery for aesthetic purposes; third, the statistical data on misleading advertising in plastic surgery for aesthetic purposes, and fourth, the incidence of misleading advertising on medical liability for plastic surgery for aesthetic purposes.

In the methodology, the analysis and interpretation is made on advertising documents produced by clinics dedicated to this type of surgery, doctrine and jurisprudence related to medical liability, and random interviews at the reception of some specialized clinics and doctor's offices that perform surgeries with patients that have the same purposes.
