^les^aEn este artículo analizaremos la constitución de un sujeto peligroso en la figura del ladrón a través del estudio de algunos juicios criminales. Ahondaremos en el problema de la ley y su función en la construcción de sujetos a partir de la manera cómo se juzgó y castigó este delito. El espacio de la ciudad colonial y el juzgado se convirtieron en los lugares fundamentales para este proceso, al igual que la actuación de los demás habitantes de la ciudad, la constante vigilancia, la construcción de un pasado, la confesión y el castigo como parte importante de su pública voz y fama.^len^aThis article analyzes the construction of the thief as a dangerous subject through the study of various criminal trials. It focuses on the problem of the law and the way it constructed subjects by judging and punishing this crime. The space of the colonial city and the court were key places in this process. The way that the other residents of the city acted, the constant vigilance, the construction of a past, and confession and punishment were also important in the public image and renown of thieves.
