Objective. To evaluate the effect of lactating days on gestation rate with artificial insemination at fixed time (AIFT). Materials and methods. 54 multiparous lactating cows brahman synchronized with a protocol with the help of progesterone, estradiol benzoate eCG and prostaglandin were used. They were divided in two groups: G1: cows <110 days of nursing (n=27); G2: cows > 110 days of nursing (n=27). Cows were inseminated 30 hours after application of second benzoate dose. Variables were analyzed by means of Chi2 test. Results. There was not effect (p<0,05) of treatments on pregnancy rates with (AIFT), obtaining 29.6% and 22.2% for G1 and G2 treatments, respectively. Conclusions. Lactating days did not have effect on the gestation rate with AIFTI.
