^les^aSegún Russell, el éxito de una teoría de la denotación se mide por su capacidad para resolver los siguientes tres enigmas: i) identidad en contextos opacos, ii) violación de la ley del tercero excluido y iii) proposiciones existenciales negativas verdaderas. En el presente texto se explicará, en primer lugar, por qué Russell cree que la teoría de la denotación de Frege no resuelve estos tres enigmas. Para ello examinaremos detalladamente la propuesta de Frege. En segundo lugar, se expondrá la solución de Russell, abordando su teoría de las descripciones. Finalmente, estudiaremos la evaluación negativa que hacen Kripke y Putnam de las teorías descripcionistas de Frege y Russell, al mismo tiempo que se expondrá un esbozo de la teoría kripkeana.^len^aAccording to Russell, a theory of denotation is succesful if it is able to solve this three puzzles: i) identity in opaque contexts, ii) violation of the law of excluded middle and iii) true negative existential propositions. In this paper I will explain, first of all, why Russell thinks that Freges's theory cannot solve the puzzles. In order to do this, I will examine Frege's theory. Secondly, I will explore Russell's solution, focusing on his Description theory. Finally, while stating Kripke's and Putnam's criticisims to Frege and Russell theories, I will also outline Kripke's theory.
