BOY, Martín    PAIVA, Verónica. People living on the street, transgender people and COVID-19. Confinement times in Buenos Aires. []. , 32, 2, pp.255-265.   06--2022. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v32n2.99501.

The objective of the article is to analyze the changes produced in the ways of living of homeless and transgender people, after the expansion of the COVID-19 pandemic. These are two groups that make intensive use of public space and that they need that space to survive. Regarding the people who spend the night on the street, we will analyze their characteristics, the networks and strategies they use and the impact that the loss of pedestrians in the street implied or the closure of the inclusion centers where they used to spend the night and go out daily. In relation to transgender people, the arrival of the confinement brought with it an initial ban on the offer of sex on public roads, the loss of incomes and the beginning of evictions from their homes. The results of the research show a transformation in the uses of public space for the two mentioned groups, which seriously deteriorated their living conditions. Regarding the methodology used, in-depth interviews were conducted in qualitative field work that also took secondary data from censuses and surveys.
