TANGARIFE L, Carmen Lucía. The economy is doing well but the job goes wrong: factors which explain the demand for labor in the Colombian industry in the years 2002-2009. []. , 21, pp.39-61. ISSN 1657-4214.

Employment dynamic in the last decade does not correspond in the same way that Colombian economy does, because according to the statistics in those moments in which growth rate is significantly high, labor demand does not respond in the same proportion, although it increases in some cases, those increases are lower than those showed by the economy. This leads to investigate the factors, aside growth, which has an incidence on the labor demand in the country, specifically on the manufacturing industry. In this paper is performed an econometric estimation that solves the question and shows some factors that may be determining the labor demand in this sector, where productivity of labor and capital stand in the determination of employment. Results are waited to be very useful to guide public policies in those factors, and to stimulate labor demand
