^len^aThe purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life among 33 patients with chronic kidney disease in haemodialysis treatment and to establish whether there were differences features between them, due to adherence behavior. Health Survey SF-36 was used, biochemical and clinical data was registered, as medical support for the adherence criteria. Significant decline in quality of life was evidenced in these patients; nevertheless the social function was preserved. The results of the t-student for independent samples showed significant differences in physical function, between the groups of patients with and without adherence to treatment (n = 19 and n = 13 respectively). Likewise, the first group reveal better quality of life related with mental health while the another group was related with physical aspects. The implications of these results are discussed.^les^aEl propósito de este estudio fue describir la calidad de vida de un grupo de 33 pacientes en tratamiento de hemodiálisis y observar si esta presentaba características distintas en función de la adhesión al tratamiento. Se utilizó el cuestionario de salud SF-36 y se registraron datos bioquímicos y clínicos con base en los cuales los especialistas reportaron su criterio médico de adhesión. Se observó un deterioro importante en las dimensiones evaluadas, no obstante la función social se encontró preservada. Los resultados de la prueba t de Student para grupos independientes mostró diferencias significativas en función física, entre los pacientes con y sin adhesión al tratamiento (n = 19 y n = 13 respectivamente). Así mismo, el primer grupo reportó mejor calidad de vida relacionada con salud mental, mientras que el segundo con aspectos físicos. Se discuten las implicaciones de estos hallazgos.
