This article is the result of the research Women, capacities and construction of peace scenarios in Samaná, Caldas, carried out in the Corregimiento de Encimadas with the objective of understanding the capabilities developed by women to build peace scenarios in their families and communities. It is a qualitative, narrative dialogic research with a hermeneutic approach that prioritizes relational processes and the ways of expressing and sharing the experiences lived by eight women survivors of the armed conflict. The results reveal and highlight how, although material, social and institutional conditions continue to be precarious, these women have been discovering and developing in their daily lives strengths such as persistence, leadership, empowerment and self-recognition, which combine and materialize in capabilities of resilience, solidarity and participation to reverse the logic of violence, take advantage of any circumstance or social, economic, cultural and political condition that enables them to promote actions for change and foster family and community scenarios as fundamental environments to build more dignified, peaceful and flourishing ways of life.
