La Nueva Granada a mediados del siglo XIX emprendió una nueva etapa de su experiencia democrática caracterizada por el surgimiento de los partidos políticos, Liberal y Conservador. Enfrentados a este nuevo escenario político, los escritores públicos neogranadinos vinculados a esos partidos buscaron enriquecer sus intervenciones políticas a través de la lectura de acontecimientos políticos extranjeros. Pero también a través de esa vía buscaron estructurar sus identidades partidistas. Este artículo estudia diferentes lecturas sobre la Revolución Francesa de 1848 en el escenario político colombiano de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. A través del análisis de la prensa periódica y otros impresos como libros, folletos y panfletos, se reconstruyen las distintas nociones sobre el acontecimiento revolucionario francés en Colombia durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. El texto está divido en tres secciones. La primera examina la atención prestada por la prensa neogranadina durante 1848 al acontecimiento revolucionario. El segundo acápite reconstruye los planteamientos conservadores sobre el vínculo entre liberales neogranadinos y socialistas franceses. Por último, son exploradas las interpretaciones liberales sobre el pensamiento socialista francés. Este análisis ha permitido demostrar la riqueza y originalidad del pensamiento político colombiano del siglo XIX, aún muy inexplorado en varios aspectos.

In the mid-19th century, Nueva Granada started a new phase of its democratic experience characterized by the appearance of the Liberal and Conservative parties. Faced with this new political scenario, the public writers of Nueva Granada who were linked to those parties sought to enrich their political interventions through the reading of foreign political events. It was also through this means that they sought to structure their partisan identities. This article studies different readings regarding the French Revolution of 1848 in the Colombian political scenario of the second half of the 19th-century. Through the analysis of the newspapers and other printed media, such as books, brochures and leaflets, the different notions of the French Revolution were reconstructed in Colombia during the second half of the 19th-century. The text is divided into three sections. The first section examines the attention paid to the Revolution by the Nueva Granada press during 1848. The second section reconstructs the conservative arguments about the link between the Nueva Granada Liberals and the French socialists. In the third section, Liberal interpretations of French socialist thinking are explored. This analysis has shown the richness and originality of Colombian political thinking in the 19th century, not yet widely explored in various aspects.

Au milieu du XIXe siècle, la Nouvelle Grenade entame une nouvelle étape de son expérience démocratique marquée par le surgissement des partis politiques, libéral et conservateur. Confrontés à cette nouvelle situation politique, les écrivains publiques néo-grenadins liés à ces partis ont cherché à enrichir ses interventions politiques à travers la lecture d'événements politiques étrangers. Mais il ont cherché par là même de structurer ses identités partisanes. Cet article analyse des différentes lectures sur la Révolution française de 1848 produites en Colombie dans la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. En reprenant la presse périodique et d'autres documents tels que livres, feuilles et pamphlets, on reconstitue les différentes notions sur l'événement révolutionnaire français en Colombie à partir de 1850. Ce texte est divisé en trois parties. La premiére examine l'attention portée par la presse néo-grenadine pendant 1848 à l'événement révolutionnaire. La deuxiéme partie reconstruit les idées conservatrices sur le lien entre les libéraux néo-grenadins et socialistes français. Finalement, on explore les interprétations libérales sur la pensée socialiste française. Cette analyse permettent de démontrer la richesse et l'originalité de la pensée politique colombienne du XIXe siècle, assez inexplorée jusqu'à présent.
