Abstract

MORENO LAGO, Eva María  and  DURACCIO, Caterina. CARMEN DE BURGOS AND ROBERTO BRACCO: FEMINIST WRITINGS BETWEEN ITALY AND SPAIN. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2022, n.81, pp.283-301.  Epub Feb 22, 2023. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n81a13.

This article explores the literary and intellectual links between Carmen de Burgos and Roberto Bracco. First, we analyze the travel narratives, press reports and essays of the writer from Almeria. Then, we examine the main ideas that the Neapolitan playwright exposes in Nel mondo della donna (conversazioni feministe), an essay translated into Spanish by De Burgos. From the comparison of the works of both writers, it is discovered that the feminist and anti-feminist duality proposed by Bracco is present in the writings of De Burgos, especially in La mujer moderna y sus derechos (1927).

Keywords : Carmen de Burgos; Roberto Bracco; feminist essays; Italian-Spanish literature; twentieth century.
