Abstract
LOPEZ NORIEGA, Luis Fernando. THE FIELD OF NOVEL IN THE COLOMBIAN CARIBBEAN AFTER BOOM LITERATURE. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2022, n.81, pp.439-453. Epub Feb 24, 2023. ISSN 0120-5587. https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n81a21.
We study the field of cultural production in the Colombian Caribbean. In principle, we approach the literary field and its degree of autonomy. From that concept, we highlight the autonomous and heteronomic poles. Then, we establish the degree of competition for legitimacy (Bourdieu, 1995), where we placed Gabriel García Márquez in a central position. Finally, we analyze the habitus of the occupants of the other positions. From that notion, we determined the reasons how Manuel Zapata Olivella, Roberto Burgos Cantor, and Germán Espinosa entered the literary field, found their symbolic capital and proposed a cultural reconfiguration of the Colombian Caribbean.
Keywords : field of cultural production; Colombian Caribbean; position taking; autonomous; heteronomous.
