Abstract

This case study aimed to report care provided for a venous ulcer carrier. Cleaning solution based on sodium chloride and essential oil of Cymbopogon citratus Stapf leaves, Aloe vera and collagen gel and hemicellulose pellicle covering were used as treatment. By using the patient's follow-up during the dressings, the lesion evolution concerning both the established treatment and its scales, it can be obtained the necessary data to know the results of the therapeutic used. The act of associating the products and following the orientations about the care related to the patient's disease prompted positive results regarding cicatrisation, pain and odor reduction. The use of products suitable to the ulcer conditions as well as the scales for systematic evaluations contribute to the cicatrisation process.
