Abstract

Choanal atresia constitutes the most frequent nasal congenital malformation, which presentation is variable, it could occur unilateral o bilateral with membranous, osseous or mix characteristics. Its symptomaology can vary accordingly with its characteristic as unilateral or bilateral, showing persistent rhinorrhea to distinguished respiratory difficulty. There are diagnostic methods from simple and easily to carry out to the more complex ones, like scanning or nasal endoscope that allow the visualization of the characteristics of the atresic plaque and the associated nasal alterations. The treatment can be done by different ways, accordingly with the surgeon experiences and particular the characteristic of each case.
