Abstract

ESPITIA DE LA HOZ, Franklin José. COVID-19 Illness and Pregnancy. Rev. Med [online]. 2021, vol.29, n.2, pp.47-64.  Epub Aug 01, 2022. ISSN 0121-5256.  https://doi.org/10.18359/rmed.4905.

The presence of COVID-19 in a pregnant woman raises a number of disturbing concerns, as other types of coronavirus have been associated with adverse outcomes. The objective of this article is to carry out a bibliographic search about the appropriate approach for pregnant patients with COVID-19. A systematic search was carried out in the following databases: EMBASE (Elsevier), Lilacs (Virtual Health Library-VHL, iAHx interface), Medline (PubMed), Science Direct, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (Wiley), DARE (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, Wiley), CENTRAL (Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Ovid), WHO, ICTRP (International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, ICTRP portal) and ClinicalTrials, between May and June 2020. In addition, original articles, case reports and review articles published in the last six months were selected. There was no language restriction to allow the collection of as many posts as possible.

Keywords : coronavirus; pregnancy; pneumonia; vertical transmission of infectious disease.
