Abstract

This paper presents elements that were taken into account from the 80's decade, especially in countries such as the United Kingdom and United Stated of America, to include Biotechnology education in the schools and in this way respond to the social and the market demands. Events that directed the formal biotechnological education setting up were described, which were used as a basis for its incorporation in other contexts. An approach to the reached results so far as well as the activities and established proposals for Biotechnological education is made. Some of the first publications that allowed the approach to the concepts and contexts that took place so that Biotechnology can be part of education in various countries around the world were tackled. The importance of configuring the didactics of biotechnology and its implications in Teachers' training as well as in their practices is highlighted.
