This article deals with the state and the advances that the quality of family mediation has experienced in Chile. Country where a solid and innovative methodology has been used to supervise the quality of this service, which also serves for the training of bidders, who are responsible for collaboratively managing legal disputes regarding family matters.
For the purposes of designing this methodology, a type of research called Experimental Development has been used, which consists of taking advantage of the knowledge obtained from research and practical experience to start up new processes or systems for the substantial improvement of existing services.
The use of this system has allowed progress in the process of continuous improvement of the quality of family mediation tendered in our country, which is relevant for access to justice in matters of family law and is also notable for constituting an example at the Ibero-American level of the use of a standardized and validated system for monitoring the quality of mediation, applied throughout the country.
