Abstract

GOMEZ ALVAREZ, José Enrique. TEACHING BIOETHICS DEGREE: NOTES ON TEACHING EXPERIENCE. rev.latinoam.bioet. [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.1, pp.100-107. ISSN 1657-4702.

The aim of this article is expose the teaching experience in a undergraduate bioethics program in Mexico City. The course analized made special emphasis in the argumentation capabilities of the studentes. Also, I made work with text analysis and use of oral and written expression of them. There was a mixed result: the students discovered that the principles and theroies in Bioethics are crucial for the resolution of cases, but they discovered themselves with great limitations in the argumentation field. The article, in consequence, is a proposal of how we can improve in this área when we teach Bioethics. The article shows the importance of fallacies and the contradictions detection as a regular tool for moral reasoning. The key idea that we cannot forget, in bioethics dialogue with our students, is that the dialogue cannot be only a consensualism procedure and try to be a way to access the truth.

Keywords : Argumentation; methodology; teaching; logic.
