Abstract

CAMPOS WINTER, Hugo. From the text to the image. Avatars of the imaginary paradigm and the visual culture. Rev. Guillermo Ockham [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.29-35.  Epub July 28, 2021. ISSN 1794-192X.  https://doi.org/10.21500/22563202.3580.

In the following text, it is argued that a shift in the scientific community from the textual paradigm towards an imaginary paradigm is currently taking place. In the first place, it is explained, from a historical perspective in episte- mology, the way in which this paradigmatic change unfolds. Then, with the optics of political epistemology, a critique is made of the effects of the technical image, nucleus of the imagery paradigm, in the society of visual culture. In the society of visual culture. It concludes arguing the need to learn to read critically the images, taking the model as the medium where the synthesis of an imagistic-textual knowledge is formed, as well as a place where a community of critical viewers is created and recreated.

Keywords : Imagetic paradigm; text; image; technical image; visual culture.
