VALENCIA CASALLAS, Olga Lucia. Corruption Crimes in Colombia: Socio-cultural, Institutional and Criminological Variables. Divers.: Perspect. Psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.1, pp.181-199.  Epub Jan 01, 2020. ISSN 1794-9998.  https://doi.org/10.15332/22563067.5550.

This article aimed to describe the factors or causes associated with corrupt behavior. Initially, it describes some statistics related to the seriousness of the problem and then points out that it approaches a “profile” of the corrupt individual, describing age, gender, relations with the company, religion, and ethnicity, all of which are variables closely related to economic crime. Then, the document describes three types of causes: socio-cultural causes, relations with institutions, and criminological causes. Finally, the conclusion describes the importance of these factors to prevent corrupt behavior in the future.

Keywords : corruption; psychopathology of the corrupt; causes of corruption; profile of the corrupt individual.
