Abstract

Inquiring the citizenship consolidation process during the republican time first decades has implied in this investigation exercise to deepen the tension that is searched when particular variables such as their civil and political connotations, the debates in the legal order context and the society demands cross each other. In that order of ideas, Understanding that process -when republican ideology became established and some normative uncertainties were resolved, while other social pressures materialized themselves- , it is the central purpose of this paper, since that way defined the direction that would take political activity in the nineteenth century. All this leads us to evaluate the interaction between the electoral practice tensions and the norm, which makes, from 1821 to 1853. Thus, different expressions and circumstances are consider for understanding the correlation between individual and political structure, as well as for taking up some aspects related to social, among they are public opinion, sociability, and discourse variations or citizenship itself.
