Inflammatory myopathies, especially dermatomyositis, can be associated with tumour formation. The case is reported of a rare combination of dermatomyositis and thymoma in a patient with no risk factors of paraneoplastic myopathy. The patient progressed slowly despite resection of the mediastinal mass.
