Abstract

PEGO, ANABELLA DI. TRACES OF HEIDEGGER IN THE HUMAN CONDITION A VEILED DISPUTE REGARDING ARISTOTELIAN PRAXIS. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, n.171, pp.185-207.  Epub Feb 15, 2020. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v68n171.62985.

The article shows that Hannah Arendt's The Human Condition can be read as a veiled dispute with Martin Heidegger regarding Aristotelian praxis. On the one hand, it reconstructs the traces in Arendt's work of Heidegger's reading of Aristotle, in order to clarify that invisibilized presence that constitutes one of the key points of the discussion with her mentor. On the other hand, it analyzes Arendt's reconceptualization of praxis, which involves a critique of Heidegger's interpretation and the deployment of her own conceptual framework, which goes beyond the Aristotelian perspective.

Keywords : M. Heidegger; H. Arendt; phrónesis; praxis; politics.
