Abstract

MEDINA LABAYRU, CARLOS. RECOVERY OF THE LIBERAL-COMMUNITARIAN DEBATE CENTRAL ASPECTS AND SHAPING OF A CONCEPT "POLITICAL IDENTITY". Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, n.171, pp.279-303.  Epub Feb 15, 2020. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvaiores.v68n171.63565.

The conception of person has shifted to the discussion on the republican theory of political self-determination. A fundamental milestone was the concept of the "political", introduced by J. Rawls to define an artificial, non-metaphysical region of organization of human life in society. It is a normative concept to define citizenship, which includes a moral conception of human beings- The article claims that, in the articulation of this concept and its associated notions of full autonomy and rationality of agents, political constructivism takes up the conception of human being as a subject of meanings, which is central to communitarianism.

Keywords : J. Rawls; autonomy; citizenship; communitarism; republicanism.
