Abstract

PEINADO-RODRIGUEZ, Matilde. Childhood Education without Teachers: Equality versus Imbalance. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2022, n.86, pp.153-170.  Epub Dec 22, 2022. ISSN 0120-3916.  https://doi.org/10.17227/rce.num86-12366.

The lack of male teachers in Early Childhood Education is not an issue that concerns educational administrations and, therefore, no common strategies have been designed to correct this imbalance from Higher Education. In the present research we intend to understand the ideological, social and contextual foundations that perpetuate this situation in the 21at century and to justify why walking towards balance in the teaching staff of this educational stage is one of the keys to the achievement of equality and the co-responsibility in our country. The methodology for this we have taken as a methodological tool individual interviews and focus groups. And the end the future teachers of Early Childhood Education reflect on these experiences and jointly outline educational, political and social guidelines for the achievement of effective equality as a projection of the future.

Keywords : education; equal opportunities; historical perspective; female profession; college.
