Abstract

ASTUDILLO-PALOMINO, RAÚL ERNESTO; BRAVO-CERON, DIANA ISABEL  and  SOSA- TEJADA, RAÚL ERNESTO. Congenital stenosis of the right main bronchus: surgical management with resection and termino-terminal anastomosis. CES Med. [online]. 2013, vol.27, n.1, pp.93-100. ISSN 0120-8705.

Congenital bronchial stenosis or atresia is a rare disease. This is a tracheobronchial malformation. This article report the case of an infant three months old, referred as a respiratory distress syndrome secondary to congenital lobar emphysema and whose final diagnosis was congenital stenosis of the right main bronchus, after imaging studies and open surgery. This situation is even rarer, because most cases of bronchial atresia or stenosis are described at the level of apical or basal lobar bronchi.

Keywords : Congenital bronchial stenosi; Case report; Congenital airway abnormalities; Airway congenital anomalies/surgery.
