The purpose of this article is to analyze Mexican legal regulation in light of international asylum law, through the theory of the encryption of power and it provides an explanation of its nature within modern state functionality. The methodological design is deductive and it is based on documentary sources from which the author presents the theorization demostrating the encryption of asylum in contemporary law. It addresses international and Mexican regulations regarding the right of asylum and it explains how it is encrypted, that is, interpreted according to political convenience. The author concludes by highlighting the importance of the theory to unravel the rigged functioning of the norms that should guarantee the right to asylum.
