Abstract

BUSTAMANTE ZAMUDIO, Guillermo. Linguistic Competence and Education. Folios [online]. 2010, n.31, pp.81-90. ISSN 0123-4870.

Colombian educational evaluating processes have focused on competence as the main purpose of evaluation. No doubt this is the result of many factors, but there is one in particular -the one referred to the theoretical antecedents of the category - that this paper considers. In the discussions on the topic, it is frequent to mention Chomsky as the one who inaugurated the concept. This is true, but it seems that the specificity of this first approximation has not been well explored. Consequently, the implications derived from this approach are not taken into consideration in the educational context. This is the topic of the present paper

Keywords : Education; competence; evaluation.
