Abstract

OCHOA SIERRA, Ligia. Dik's Functional Gram. Folios [online]. 2011, n.34, pp.103-112. ISSN 0123-4870.

Abstract This article presents the linguistic model called Dik's «Functional Grammar». This model has been used in the past sixty years to describe various languages. We try to present a systematic and coherent model. In this way, the general characteristics of what is called Functional Grammar are initially presented. Then we are going to describe the structure of the model and the methodological principles, and finally, a brief reference to the functional model called Grammar Role and Reference. The review is mainly based on the pioneering Dik's work.

Keywords : functionalism; dependency grammar; functional grammar; clausal structure; predicates.
