Abstract

ARIZA, Diego; CACERES, Lucía  and  MORENO, Carolina. Research training. Memoirs of research experience. Folios [online]. 2013, n.38, pp.157-166. ISSN 0123-4870.

This paper gathers some experiences taken from academic and training processes developed in a Social Construction of Space, an emphasis of the Master of Social Studies at National Pedagogical University in Bogota, Colombia, during the first and second cohorts (2008-2011). Reflecting on the results of research practices in this master program has left, as major contribution, a number of recommendations for future research training experiences with graduate students. Some relevant questions associated are: How could we select a topic or problem of inquiry? How could we ask and set goals to meet our research aims? How relevant is a methodological map in our process of data collection and analyzes? And perhaps the most challenging and annoying issue at the peak of any process: Planning conclusions from any impact given by contributions to several fields of social knowledge.

Keywords : Research training; research methodology; social construction of space.
