Abstract

BETANCUR VALENCIA, Diela Bibiana. Writing and Subjectivity: Between Trauma, Defense, and Creation. Folios [online]. 2022, n.55, pp.101-116.  Epub July 22, 2022. ISSN 0123-4870.  https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.55-12169.

This paper develops doctoral research on the subjective representations that some college students have regarding writing. In this paper, writing Is conceived asa plural, academic and cultural practice. This research, based on the hermeneutic paradigm, is developed under the case study strategy and has as its source for data collection, the semi-structured Interview. Based on the understandings of subjectivity from psychoanalysis, it deals with the concept of the subject as a writer of the unconscious that always refers to emptiness and trauma; to repetition and creation; to alteration and otherness, in short, to an edge experience between the identical and the different. However, how does a subject write from the writing of his unconscious mind? The text approaches this question from the analysis of a young man's case who, on the one hand, builds a desire around writing as a defense mechanism, and on the other, he makes the written word's beauty asa veil against horror.

Keywords : education and psychoanalysis; writing; defense mechanism; desire; subject; trauma.
