Abstract

The naval power, the maritime interests of the nation and the will of the State are the elements that make up the maritime power. This, added to a strategy that maximizes the control of the sea, has been key to the economic and sociocultural development of peoples, empires and states throughout the history of mankind. The objective of this paper is to describe the synergistic relationship between the Naval Power, the maritime interests of the State and international cooperation, as a strategy for the maritime development of Colombia. Located in some theoretical and conceptual contributions of the School of Realism, there will be a historical review of the main talasocracy of history; After that, there will be a leap towards international cooperation to answer how these theoretical-conceptual approaches describe the synergistic relationship of Colombian naval power with the development of maritime power and the achievement of the essential purposes of the State.
