Contemporary society needs professionals with a new way of thinking and acting based on science, technology and social responsibility, which consists of a system of knowledge, abilities and behaviors that determine the control and regulation of the consequences and impacts of scientific and technological developments, as well as social relevance of investigation and innovation, working towards a solution of the problems that affect society and nature. This article’s objective is to reflect on the social responsibility of social workers, from the viewpoint of studies in science, technology and society.
