Abstract

PADILLA-MOSQUERA, Katherine  and  PINERUA-NARANJO, Santiago. Culture and Peacebuilding: Allies for Sustainable Development. Pensam. palabra obra [online]. 2018, n.19, pp.40-61. ISSN 2011-804X.

In this paper the authors reflect on the role of culture in the implementation of policies focused on sustainable development in a historic moment for Colombia, with the consolidation of peace with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the beginning of negotiations with the National Liberation Army (ELN). The purpose is to demonstrate the relationship between culture and aspects of peacebuilding, based on the positions of authors who address this issue and comparing it with the principles outlined in the documents of organizations such as the United Nations, Unesco, and the United Cities and Local Governments (CGLU). Among the findings shared by the authors, they acknowledge contributions in the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development through artistic practices and expressions during the conflict and in a post-agreement stage, as evidenced by a sampling of cultural, public and private experiences, which are the contributions to peacebuilding.

Keywords : culture; sustainable development; peace; post-conflict; peacebuilding.
