Abstract

PITA CORREDOR, Edward Mauricio; NINO ROCHA, Nelly  and  QUIROZ MANRIQUE, Gloria Stella. Incidence of Enviromental Education in the Configuration of Political Agents From Recovery Processes of La Conejera Wetland (Suba, Bogotá D.C). Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.44-67. ISSN 2145-0366.

At the wetland La Conejera (located in Suba, Bogotá D.C.), A process of education and community participation started in the year 1993, looking for solutions to the environmental ecosystem problems in this area. Some of the participants in this process have placed themselves in different scenarios of political operations at the Capital District, while others continue to lead other community processes. This article presents the relationship of the environmental situation in La Conejera wetland and the agency capacity of the community leaders through environmental education processes which allowed recognition, appropriation and incidence in the transformation of this territory. Some actors were associated or "allied" with common goals; the community organized and launched initiatives and actions that contributed to generate a strategy of citizen participation from the base, channeled into research, outreach, education and environmental management. The participants carried out collective actions, independent of everyday formalism and other public, or personal circumstances, with proposals that influence the construction and participation in government programs, building new learning and knowledge and public agendas. Thus, political action is the expression of environmental education from practice by the restoration and wetland protection and defense of its rights.
