Abstract

MALAGON-ALDANA, Yurany Andrea. Issues, Contents and Actions Related to Human Rights at Schools. The Case of Five Educational Institutions and a Social Foundation. Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.68-89. ISSN 2145-0366.

The article is focused on the analysis of issues, contents and actions regarding the teaching, practice and defense of human rights in school activities. This project emerges from a document produced for the program in Education and pedagogy CINDE UPN-32, in which one question is addressed: How do pedagogical practices carried out in your institution involve issues, content or actions related to human rights? This question was asked to teachers and coordinators from five educational institutions and a Social Foundation. The technique used was the semi-structured interview, and with the information gathered, joint matrices codes and maps of sense were made in order to elaborate the analytical documents. The most significant findings are related to the mainstreaming of human rights in school, the community participation in their promotion and defense, the power relations in school, the teacher's role as a political subject, and social context as setting of Human Rights appropriation.
