Abstract

This article sets out the aims of teaching Social Sciences and History in Colombia in the last decades, based on the accounts of a group of teachers in practice compiled in 2015. According to this approach, three main perspectives were identified regarding the sense of Social Sciences at school: disciplinary, axiological and social transformation. These nuances dialogue with the country context and evidence a struggle to establish the legitimacy of social-historical knowledge susceptible of being taught in school.
