Abstract

KRMPOTIC, Claudia Sandra  and  VALLEJOS, Andrea Viviana. Maria Makes a Difference. Toward a Deconstruction of Iatrogenic Interventions in Cases of House Arrest. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.65-83. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n1.78904.

The article analyzes the type of social interventions regularly applied in the case of people deprived of their freedom, by means of the case study of an adult woman in the context of house arrest. The analysis follows the methodological premises of grounded theory, arriving at an emergent description on the basis of the corpus of narratives obtained through in-depth interviews carried out in 2017. The article concludes that there is a series of crossed discriminations and operative disconnections that can increase situations of vulnerability, which leave people under house arrest in a more severe state of defenselessness.

Keywords : differentiated approach; discrimination; house arrest; iatrogenics; intervention; rights.
