RODRIGUEZ BALLEN, Oscar David. Family and Anthropology in the Fifties. The First Decade of the Revista Colombiana de Antropología. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.2, pp.167-184. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n2.82237.

This text presents an analysis of discourses made by Colombian anthropologists in the fifties, through an exploration of the Revista Colombiana de Antropología. The study of the selected articles allows to identify that the family appeared as a concept in research projects about indigenous and peasant communities; both emerged as an specific study object for anthropology in this decade. Approaches to the recognition of family diversity and social issues that affect Colombian families in the mid-twentieth century are evident.

Keywords : anthropology; family; family anthropology; family studies; fifties; Revista Colombiana de Antropología.
