Abstract

CASTRILLON CASTRO, Carlos Mario  and  MARRUGO OROZCO, Carolina. Family Studies in Cartagena de Indias: Debates Around Historiography. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.2, pp.185-206. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n2.82118.

The article proposes a re-reading on the production of family studies in Cartagena de Indias. Accordingly, we present a theoretical approach to the concept to expose the historical-cultural characterization stated by anthropologist Virginia Gutiérrez de Pineda. Based on this, we will present contributions and considerations regarding historiography of families in Cartagena de Indias, as well as expectations towards the approach to this topic in history and the Social Sciences.

Keywords : Cartagena de Indias; colony; family studies; historiography; social sciences; twentieth century.
