Abstract

MARTELL HERNANDEZ, Eduardo Osiel  and  CARO LUJAN, Nelly Rosa. Beyond Culture and Biology, Towards a Relational Sociology of the Study of Emotions. Trab. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.1, pp.29-51.  Epub Mar 01, 2023. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v25n1.101903.

This article reviews the background of the epistemological discussions contained in the first proposal of the sociology of emotions and the contributions of the history of sensibilities. It recognizes the limits of the cultural tradition of knowledge of the sensible in which they are immersed and presents a proposal that supports their study from sociology, including the explanatory tradition. Framed in a research context, the categories of "experience" and "expression" are linked to the first, and "perception" to the latter.

Keywords : Sociology of emotions; perception; experience; expression; context; relationality.
