Abstract

AMAR, JOSÉ; ABELLO, RAIMUNDO; DENEGRI, MARIANELLA  and  LLANOS, MARINA. ECONOMIC THOUGHT AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. rev.latinoam.psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.39, n.2, pp.363-373. ISSN 0120-0534.

This research explored the construction of economic concepts in a sample of 50 university students, residents from a multifinancial city of the Caribbean Colombian Region. To get to know the conceptualization we applied a deep interview and we investigated about the function, value and circulation of money and the emission and circulation of the money. Just 24% of young students reach the level of economic inferential thought. No differences were observed between students from different academic programs. The results indicate that the studied group presents a difference in the level of the economic thought with previously studied similar groups from other nationalities.

Keywords : Construction of social knowledge; social representations; economic concepts; Caribbean Region; Colombia; Superior education.
