Heart failure (HF) is a clinical syndrome with high morbidity and mortality in both women and men, alteration due to impaired cardiac function, systemic inflammation, and neurohormonal activation. Along with the rapidly aging society, the number of patients with HF has increased rapidly worldwide. The "HF pandemic" is a serious health problem, particularly in the elderly population. In particular, taking into account the fact that elderly patients with cardiovascular diseases are more likely to have non-cardiac risk factors, including anemia, malnutrition, frailty, sarcopenia, chronic kidney disease, lung disease chronic obstructive and cancer. This article is a state of the art of HF in elderly patients and women.
