Abstract

CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MESOSEMIA HÜBNER [1819] GENUS IN COLOMBIA WITH DESCRIPTION OF NEW TAXA (LEPIDOPTERA: RIODINIDAE). Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.2, pp.174-240. ISSN 0123-3068.

This paper is a review of the species and subspecies belonging to the Mesosemia Hübner [1819] genus in Colombia. Records of 61 species are given and new taxa are described, such as: Mesosemia portentosa n. sp., Mesosemia vemania n. sp., Mesosemia porce n. sp., Mesosemia metuana vargasi n. ssp., Mesosemia praeculta colombiana n. ssp., Mesosemia zorea chocoensis n. ssp., Mesosemia macrina sticheli n. ssp., Mesosemia mustela henaoi n. ssp., Mesosemia zonalis gorgoniensis n. ssp., and Mesosemia magete humboldtiana n. ssp. Biological features and distribution ranges are included based on material deposited in Colombian collections.
